Rhythmzone singer, Ishikawa Marie, will finally be releasing a full song, “Suki,” as a theme for Life Net life insurance commercials.
The R&B singer has been on the Avex sublabel for a while, but has focused on producing tracks with other singers. She gained attention for her cover of “Come Again” on m-flo’s recent tribute album under the name “Marie.” Ishikawa also sang a song called “I promise you” for quadraphonic’s debut album under the English name Marie Ishikawa. She seems to have finally settled into a name and a style and has her new song “Suki” up for Chaku-Uta cell downloads.
Although there is currently no single release planned for the new song, hopefully the up-and-coming singer will do well enough with digital downloads to justify putting out a full single.
Avex has a teaser up for the song on their youtube channel and the song is definitely catchy. J-pop fans looking for someone new to listen to should definitely check it out.
