PICTURED: Chelsea captain John Terry plays the family man as he reunites with wife Toni by the pool in Dubai
In the doghouse: John Terry spent the day by the hotel pool with his wife Toni, her parents and their twins in Dubai today
Despite the heart-to-hearts the couple are expected to have about the future over the next few days, John and Toni acted normally for the sake of their young children today.
It was no doubt an awkward day for the former England captain, 29, with his in-laws in attendance, who are understandably furious with the way he has treated their daughter.
The couple and Toni's parents spent the day by the pool, sunbathing, eating and drinking and playing with their children.
But, leaving Heathrow Airport for his Valentine's showdown, Terry, 28, told the Daily Mirror: 'It's been a tough few weeks but I hope things will get better. I hope I can fix things in Dubai.'
The £170,000 Chelsea star, who was sacked as England captain last week, looked tired, grim-faced as he touched down in the Gulf city state late on Thursday night.
To onlookers by the pool at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Dubai, they looked like a regular family on holiday.
But, of course, there is nothing normal about John Terry's impromptu holiday with his wife Toni, as they battle to repair their marriage after revelations about his infidelity.
After jetting in from London, having been granted compassionate leave from Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, the ex-England skipper was reunited with his wife for the first time in two weeks since news broke of his alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel

And his club side's defeat at Everton on Wednesday night - a potentially crucial slip-up in the Barclays Premier League title race - would only have added to his anxiety.
On board Emirates flight EK8, Terry, who wore a white hoodie emblazoned with Great Escape star Steve McQueen, reportedly drank a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc white wine
Two's company...: The Terrys will repair their marriage under the watchful eye of his in-laws, who have accompanied Toni to Dubai
Having reserved two £2,500 first-class seats to himself, he is understood to have sat under a duvet during the journey and flicked through the plane's movie channels
