Like in the movies: Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan as Jacob Moore and Winnie Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Carey Mulligan is reportedly moving back to the UK after calling time on her relationship with her Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star Shia La Beouf.
Carey, 25, who was nominated for an Oscar for An Education, is apparently swapping the New York apartment she shared with the Transformers star for a house in Covent Garden after their romance fizzled out.
Talking at the premiere of her latest film Never Let Me Go in London last week - which she attended alone - the actress told friends: 'I'm moving back to England: it's a long story.'
Happier times: Shia and Carey sharing a kiss in in downtown New York back in March
Together: The couple in Cannes for the film festival in May when Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps was shown for the first time
The Sunday Telegraph reports that she continued: 'I am spending some more time here at the moment. Just spending time with my family, really.'
Neither pair have commented on the split rumours as yet, but curiously, Shia, 24, flipped out at the weekend when confronted by a photographer.
The normally-calm star spotted a paparazzo about to take his photo so chased after him and witnesses report he tipped a cup of coffee over the hapless snapper.
Heartbroken?: Carey showed no outward signs of any split at the premiere of Never Let Me Go at the London Film Festival last week
He's also been spotted moping about reading a book while looking sad and introverted while having time off shooting his latest movie Transformers 3.
Shia and Carey pair played lovers in the Wall Street sequel and got together on set, going public with their relationship last December.
At the time director Oliver Stone joked: 'I seem to be a good casting director.'
And just a few months ago in May, the actress, who was nominated at the Academy Awards for her role in An Education, said: 'I love New York, maybe more than Los Angeles or London. I could live in New York.
'I think I'm happiest [there].'
Moody?: Shia LaBeouf looked down as he drank coffee and read a book in Washington, D.C., on a break from filming Transformers 3
Never Let Me Go meanwhile, which premiered at the London Film Festival, is based on the Kazuo Ishiguro novel of the same name.
Also starring Keira Knightley and Charlotte Rampling, it goes on general release in UK cinemas on 21 January.
Carey meanwhile is currently already filming her next movie Drive alongside Mad Men siren Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman and Ryan Gosling.
A crime caper about a stuntman, it's scheduled for release sometime next year.
